Willow Donovan has spent her entire life moving, following her father's military career wherever it takes them. When her father is suddenly reassigned to a remote lighthouse in the Pacific Northwest during the height of Prohibition, Willow is forced to once again grapple with her idea of home and her own sense of identity. The island is full of surprises, most notably the islands undercover ties to illegal rum running by several of its inhabitants. Loyalties blur and relationships are tested as Willow learns more about Stuart Island's hidden secrets. As she navigates the turbulent tide of her situation, she must learn to trust herself and her own moral compass.

Caught up in unforeseen circumstances, Willow is placed precariously in the middle of her father's ambition and the illegal pursuits of several islanders. Time is not on her side as her father and a relentless young ensign have made the illegal rum running operations in the Salish Sea their prime target for capture. As Willow dives deeper into Stuart Islands past she attracts the attention of not only Ensign Cail, but a handsome Scottish sailor, Dylan MacDara- both set on winning her affection at all costs. Entangled in a blossoming new romance and found family, Willow explores her island home, finding herself now caught in the life her father expects and the life she feels calling to her.
