Mystical experiences are happening every day, yet--as amazing as the experiences can be--it is often difficult to integrate these experiences into the rest of life. In light of this difficulty, I have created mystical reflection as a simple method for sharing one's own mystical experiences in a group setting and listening to the experiences of others in a non-judgmental way. The theological principle at work here is that if God speaks, then everyone can benefit from it. Mystical reflection takes this principle seriously and offers a method of application for integrating the spiritual insights into each person's spirituality.

Industry Reviews

“Prayerful, studied, and holy, Dann offers a gentle and effective methodology for mystical reflection. . . . Touching upon the Desert Fathers, biblical passages, saintly experiences, and interreligious spiritual writings, as well as dreams and intuitions from people today, he pulls back the curtains, exposing what has been present all along our human path: a spectrum of connection to the energy of the infinite known and unknown—and that reflection is powerful and fun!”
—Caroline Carson, Rector, Holy Innocents’ Episcopal Church

“I had the privilege of participating in the plot of Dann Wigner’s Thinking Spiritually in Small Groups method. The experience showed me I’m not alone in having sensed God’s presence in subtle and profound ways. Dann’s approachable method is one that I am eager to introduce to my congregation. Its thoughtful design ensures everyone feels safe and uplifted in sharing and praying with each other.”
—Kelsey Leftwich, former President, Companions in Ministry, School of Theology, University of the South
