Thich Nhat Hanh was a Vietnamese monk, a renowned Zen master, a poet, and a peace activist.
He was nominated for the Nobel Prize by Martin Luther King, Jr., in 1967, and is the author of many books, including the best-selling The Miracle of Mindfulness. Thích Nhat Hanh lives in the Plum Village meditation center in southwest France, travelling internationally to give retreats and talks. He coined the term "Engaged Buddhism" in his book Vietnam: Lotus in a Sea of Fire. He died in 2022 at the age of 95.
