The Side Road

In The Side Road, author Link Forester shares his lessons learned about finding joy and purpose in the twists and turns of life.

An unplanned pregnancy and a soulful choice began Link Forester’s marriage and fatherhood far earlier than he and Carla (or their families) expected—yet it was the beginning of their own side road of growth, faith, and responsibility. The Side Road winds through a risky but ultimately successful career change, the circus of family life, and the phone call that no parent is prepared to receive.

Through hilarious and heartbreaking stories, Forester reveals that the secret to a happy and successful life is embracing life’s challenges instead of resisting them, in order to experience an uncommon buoyancy and optimism in the most difficult times. A storyteller at heart, Link Forester’s writing in The Side Road draws universal truths from his own experience and inspires readers to embrace their own side road, whatever that may be. For those whose lives have taken an unexpected turn, The Side Road offers a gentle invitation to pause, take the long view, and enjoy the ride.
