What is philosophy? Why should you study it? How can simple arguments shatter and remake your life?

Greg Johnson's The Philosopher Is In a lucid and engaging introduction to philosophy. Johnson explores the views of Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Ayn Rand, and Pierre Hadot on the nature and importance of philosophy. He also discusses the psychological hangups, false values, and philosophical errors that impede the pursuit of happiness, offering philosophical advice and consolation for individuals struggling with moral and existential questions.

Industry Reviews

"In The Philosopher Is In, Greg Johnson defends the Socratic idea of philosophy as found in Plato's dialogues. Socrates argued that philosophy is the most important thing you will ever study, because philosophy is the pursuit of wisdom, and without wisdom, we are leaving the pursuit of happiness up to chance. Thus, if you are serious about being happy, you need to read this book."
