Boeing 737 Captain Patrick Strack is assigned to fly a plane load of high denomination treasury bills on their way to be burned. A fire fight occurs on the aircraft and he is forced to fly a severely damaged aircraft to Venice Florida where the hijackers remove all the money and disappear. When the police arrive,an injured Patrick, is the only survivor, and is blamed. No one believes his tale of being hijacked, he is slated to go to jail after he recovers from his injuries. While he is recuperating, his cousin shows up and helps him escape an attempt on his life. Afterward, he flees to the Caribbean where there is family to help him. While there he runs afoul of the hijackers, a mad Mayan cult, the mafia, and meets someone he falls in love with. He is captured by the Mayans and forced to watch a ritual sacrifice then fly an aircraft that contiains a bomb. He manages to get the bomb off before it explodes ansd escapes with the aircraft. Later he finds and loses the the cargo containers. During this he discovers that one container was filled with gold ingots worth ten times more than the money in the other containers, which he now has the keys to. This leads to multiple attempts to capture him as he leads them on a wild chase in the Carribean trying to stay alive and get his name cleared.
