The "Special 25th Anniversary Edition" of THE LOST VALENTINE (2024) takes the reader back in time to the days of World War Two as Caroline Thomas waits faithfully through the next 50 years for her husband, Navy Pilot, Lieutenant Neil Thomas to keep a date and a promise. Her wait begins at Union Train Station, Los Angeles. As told by her son, Neil Thomas, Jr. to reporter and journalist Susan Allison, a promise to return by their wedding anniversary, Valentine's Day 1945, doesn't stop Caroline from keeping her promise to her MIA husband.

The timeless love story, viewed by millions of Hallmark Hall of Fame movie fans, shares Caroline's views about the nature of true and enduring love. Can Susan Allison learn Caroline's romantic secret, as Neil Jr shares the mysterious and startling nature of a promise finally kept? And when she does, can second chances and love become as real for them as Caroline and her husband's love once was?

"It is now midnight, the witching hour, and I just finished reading The Last Valentine for the 6th time!  Yes, I cried my eyes out again, at the most beautiful love story I have ever read! Everyone from 16 years old and up should read this story!" ~Helen Mulholland

"I gave an oral review of The Lost Valentine just the other day at our book club and there wasn't a dry eye in the room by the time I finished. You sure do have a way of telling a love story! Don't change!" ~Georgina Tacconi

Industry Reviews
  • "Pratt's debut novel, like Casablanca, tugs at the heartstrings and brings out the tissues. A natural for television." Kirkus Reviews

  • Get out your box of tissues and rid yourself of all distractions, because once you pick up this book, you will not put it down. Fans of Nicholas Sparks will enjoy." Booklist, Starred Review

  • "Like a return ticket to Bridges of Madison County territory." Publisher's Weekly

  • "Some love stories have that cheerful demeanor with that instant satisfaction reaction but no lasting impression. Others use cheap gimmicks to equate love with something it's not. And then there are the rare few timeless dramas. The Lost Valentine fits into the last category." Rissi Writes

  • "The Lost Valentine is a powerful story that includes references to God, prayer and a dying man's recitation of the 23rd Psalm. It involves heroism and love. Best of all, it shows a relationship that manifests in keeping one's marriage covenant and one's promises. This relationship is so powerful that it changes the secular reporter's life. In fact, she learns that faith and family are more important than fame or fortune. The Lost Valentine is another great Hallmark Hall of Fame movie adaptation from the book. The acting is very good, especially by Betty White. The production values are high. Everything about this production denotes quality, captivating entertainment." ~Movie Guide
