She wears only one mask. At least, that's what everyone believes.
At Fallbrook College, Nora Voss is the quietest girl in Room 307.
She rarely speaks. She avoids eating with her roommates. And no matter where she goes or what time it is, she never removes the plain white medical mask covering the lower half of her face.
To everyone else, it's nothing unusual.
But Madison Hale and Chloe Reyes have begun to wonder what Nora is hiding.
One night, while Nora sleeps, curiosity gets the better of them.
They decide to remove her mask.
The first comes away easily.
Beneath it is another.
They remove the second.
Another.
The third.
Another.
As the layers keep coming, the room grows unnaturally quiet. Nora doesn't move. Her breathing becomes almost impossible to hear.
Madison starts counting.
Seven.
Ten.
Thirteen.
Fourteen.
Then fifteen.
And beneath the fifteenth mask... there is another.
But before they can decide what to do next, something happens that neither girl will ever forget.
By morning, nothing in Room 307 will ever be quite the same.
The Fifteenth Layer is a supernatural horror story about forbidden curiosity, an impossible secret, and the terrifying consequences of uncovering something that was never meant to be seen.
Some secrets should never be uncovered. Some masks should never be removed.
