About the Author

Kitty Pilgrim has worked for CNN since 1986. She is the recipient of many awards, including an Overseas Press Club Award, an Emmy Award, and a New York Society of Black Journalists Award. She lives in New York City and Rhinecliff, New York, with her two sons.
