At Woodlands Retirement Home, life is expected to be calm and uneventful. Residents pass the time by playing cards, drinking coffee, and waiting for the next Code Purple. A Code Purple is intended to bring comfort; it's the community's way of saying farewell when someone dies. However, the sudden passing of their beloved resident, John, deeply unsettles the Woodlands crew.
Upon discovering that John secretly owned the home and that his children wish to sell it, everything changes for the residents. Felix, Ted, Mikey, Norm, Liz, and Caroline refuse to be displaced into faceless institutions. The challenge is that few take a group of seniors seriously-until their efforts to save Woodlands take the internet by storm.
Equipped with smartphones, social media, and an abundance of determination (if not common sense), the Woodlands crew becomes an online sensation. Their journey includes humorous missteps with technology and heartfelt appeals that resonate with millions. They demonstrate that you're never too old to start a revolution.
Funny, warm, and wildly entertaining, *The Code Purple* is a story about friendship, resilience, and the surprising power of embracing technology at any age.
