THE CAPTOR blends flashbacks-within-flashbacks to explain how, Jasmine, the main character has come to become a captive and an intriguing mystery to go with its ghastly SAW-like consequences of her failure to identify her captor. I was blown away by the ending, and did a second reading to catch all the bread crumbs DJ sprinkled through the book. I cannot overstate how much the final reveal blew my mind - brilliant! This book puts its foot on the gas from the first pages and never lets up. If you are looking to find your next favorite horror author here is the place to start!
