"The Beetle" is a horror novel written and published by Richard Marsh in 1897. The story is somewhat disturbing: an ancient Egyptian spirit wants revenge on an influential English politician. Thus, while Detective Champnell collects testimony and notes clues, Holt, an ex-businessman with financial problems, while looking for a new job, remains mesmerized by a strange and very disturbing beetle.
