Do you struggle with anxiety? Do you find yourself continuing in self-defeating behavior patterns that you can't seem to get a handle on? These issues are NOT the problem, but often the symptoms of a deeper, unresolved trauma from the past.
When I was six years old, I witnessed a horrific act-my mother beating my two-year old sister to death. It is a day that is etched forever in my mind. I have spent decades trying to come to terms with the abuse and trauma I experienced. I suffer from PTSD, and I have experienced pain and grief that is hard to articulate. I have felt unbearable guilt as well, and all of the "why?" and "if onlys". I have also experienced domestic violence where I regularly had my life threatened. Now, at 43, I want to share what I have learned with anyone else who is suffering. Maybe my sister's death won't be in vain. Maybe some good can come from the ashes.
