About the Author

Lorena Otes is a writer and debut author of Solo Mum By Choice (previously Round After Round), which placed runner-up in the Hawkeye Publishing Manuscript Development Prize 2024. Her work has appeared in Feels Blind Literary, The Brussels Review, Mamamia, Bounty Parents, Witcraft Magazine and Defenestration Literary Humour Magazine, and her flash fiction has been longlisted in several national competitions.

A classical and contemporary dance teacher, Bonnie Tyler fan, motorbike enthusiast, and avid reader, Lorena is also a proud solo mum by choice to her dinosaur-loving five-year-old daughter.
