About the Author

Janet A Holmes was born and grew up in Perth, Western Australia. After completing an Arts Degree at the University of Western Australia, Janet worked as a research assistant for various organisations and academics. Following a Graduate Diploma in Education, she worked as a teacher-librarian in a primary school. She then moved to Canberra where she still lives. Janet was a rare gem found amongst thousands of book submissions! Little Hare Books published her first picture book Me and You in 2008, followed by Duck in 2009 and Pink in August 2011.

About the Illustrator

Daniella Germain grew up with a pencil in her hand, but illustration was not her first career choice. After studying psychology and working in research for almost a decade she decided it was time to return to her true passion. She studied graphic design at RMIT University and fortuitously fell into illustrating and book design after the publication of one of her University projects. She lives in Melbourne with her two furry kids and her fiance, who is also a big kid at heart. That's What Wings are For is Daniella's second picture book with Little Hare. Her first book, Snap!.
