A sinuous, erotic thriller about obsession and the temptation of ultimate power

Kay Norris, a successful book editor, moves into the affluent Carnegie Hill district of Manhattan, into an apartment in a slender high-rise. A man watches her. He watches her unpack, watches her make her bed. He owns the building: a shocking secret is concealed within the walls.Sliver is a sinuous, erotic thriller that explores the menacing evil behind the glittering facade of Manhattan's skyscrapers; a hypnotic story of obsession and the temptation of ultimate power.

About the Author

Ira Levin is the author of Rosemary's Baby, The Boys from Brazil, The Stepford Wives, and other bestsellers, as well as Broadway's longest-running thriller, Deathtrap. He has won two Edgar Awards and the Bram Stoker Award from the Horror Writers Association. He died in 2007.

Industry Reviews

Sliver is the ultimate fin de siecle horror novel, a fiendish goodbye wave to trendy urban living in the last decade of the twentieth century. Mr. Levin has in Sliver created the apartment dweller's worst nightmare. As always, his characters have a texture and a reality that's almost eerie, and the narrative is as stripped-down and efficient as an automatic weapon.

Levin's thriller, Sliver, is as successful a page-turner as his first, A Kiss Before Dying...Ira Levin never gets serious, he just gets better. Grade A. - Entertainment Weekly
