Can you buy your way into Heaven? Parishioners in the Reverend Jedidiah Rule's church seem to think so. And the Reverend encourages those beliefs, as long as he profits from them. Rule is handsome, mesmerizing, at times frightening and dangerous. He is a man who knows no limitations. Rumors of indiscretions, fraud and worse surround him but no one can prove them true. Then the church's head security officer Jim Marlowe commits suicide.
His doubting widow calls in a favor from one of Jim's army mates, TBI agent Rain Armstrong. Armstrong then enlists one of Rule's loyal followers, Lilac Ashley, to help him find out the truth about Jim's death, which is hard to decipher in the inner circle of the Reverend's prosperous ministry. There are plenty of shady characters, dead parishioners and more trouble than Armstrong could imagine. Add the murder of Rule's hard-hearted former mistress to the mix, and the story has all the ingredients for one hell of a ride!
