WELCOME TO THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, where the doors never stop opening, and you never really know what is coming through them next.
SHIFT HAPPENS takes you behind the scenes of an Australian emergency department through the eyes of a nurse who has seen the hilarious, the heartbreaking, the horrifying and the completely unbelievable.
There are prosthetic eyes flying across rooms, unfortunate objects lodged in places they were never designed to go, drunken disasters, bizarre injuries, wild nights and moments that leave an entire department wondering, 'Did that really just happen?'
BUT BENEATH THE CHAOS ARE THE STORIES THAT STAY WITH YOU.
The frightened patients. The grieving families. The lives saved, and the ones that couldn't be.
SHIFT HAPPENS is a glimpse inside a world most people only ever see from the other side of the curtain. Told with compassion, honesty and the dark humour that helps emergency workers survive the madness.
Some shifts change lives.
Some break hearts.
And some are just completely cooked.
