Shadows Released

Alana Quela never expected her name to be chosen.

In her world, selection is not an honour, it's a sentence. When her family name is called, she is taken from everything she knows and thrust into a realm humans never willingly go. A place where magic is not only real, but dangerous. Alive. Watching.

At first, survival is all that matters.

The rules are simple: obey, endure, and don't stand out. But this new world is not built for safety, it's built on power. Alana quickly learns that not everything hunting wears a monstrous face.

Some dangers hide behind soft voices and steady eyes. Some smile before they break you. And some... feel almost human.

As she navigates this unfamiliar realm, Alana is forced to confront more than just the threats around her. Something within her begins to stir, something ancient, something tied to a lost lineage. And then the shadows. They move when they shouldn't. Reach when no one is there. Watch when she's alone.

At first, she's curious about them. Then she realises something far more terrifying, they respond to her. They are protecting her.

But protection comes with its own consequences. As Alana's connection to the shadows deepens, so does the attention she attracts. Powerful forces begin to take notice, those who want to control her, use her, or destroy her before she becomes something they cannot stop.

And then there are the ones who blur the line between ally and enemy. A man she is warned about, that has secrets hidden deep.

Another with a quiet intensity that feels like both a warning and a pull she can't ignore.

Trust becomes a risk. Power becomes a weapon. And survival is no longer enough.

Because the more Alana fights to hold onto who she was... the more the shadows reshape who she's becoming.

In a world where magic is feared, controlled, and stolen, Alana must decide, Will she run from what's awakening inside her? Or will she embrace it... and become something far more dangerous than anything hunting her?

Shadows Released is a dark fantasy filled with tension, mystery, and slow-burning power. Perfect for readers who love strong heroines, dangerous alliances, and magic that doesn't play by the rules.

Because in this world...

the shadows don't just follow you.

They choose you.
