To Miami Beach, where a pre-dawn hotel lobby told him everything he needed to know about the culture he had walked into. To the waiting room on the 17th floor of CONCACAF's Trump Tower offices, where Caribbean football officials sat for hours asking where their money had gone, while the man they came to see never came down from the 49th floor.
Saving Soccer is also an argument about what the sport can be. Drawing on two decades of experience inside and outside football governance, Brennan makes the case for a game organised around the people who play it rather than the people who profit from it; one that uses the cultural authority it commands to advance human dignity rather than to flatter the powerful.
