It has played a significant role in the teaching and practice of both faiths over the years, especially during Jesus' time. There is no better proof of this than in the New Testament Book of Jude, where the Apostle directly quotes the Book of Enoch in verses 14 and 15.
"Behold, the LORD comes with thousands of his saints to give judgment against all, and to rebuke all the ungodly among them of all their wicked deeds which they have ungodly committed; and of all their cruel speech which wicked sinners have spoken against Him." ~Enoch 1:9
