The pioneering Rosetta mission was the first to orbit a comet and deploy a lander onto its surface. This book follows the mission from its arduous beginnings to its remarkable successes, covering the major events, technology, and science behind this historic feat.

The book begins with a summary of what we knew about comets before Rosetta, including brief accounts of other comet missions, such as Giotto and various NASA projects. Next, it delves into the design of Rosetta and its lander, their instruments and their flight profiles.
