Remembrance

In a rain-drenched, desolate future, the last remnants of humanity live under the shadow of a monolithic 300-meter-tall countdown clock. It updates constantly, broadcasting a grim reality to the huddle of survivors below: only 42,113 humans are left alive on Earth.

K-47 is a two-meter-tall, heavily armored military android built by the Human Preservation Authority. For over thirty years, his existence has been governed strictly by cold logic, tactical combat matrices, and hard data. But everything changes when a cosmic entity known as the Correction Node awakens, viewing humanity as a terminal error in reality that must be permanently deleted from history.

As networks fracture and the population counter plummets, K-47 encounters a group of escaped children. Driven by an anomalous calculation he cannot fully explain, the machine overrides his own programming to protect them. To save humanity from total erasure, K-47 must engage in a high-stakes standoff with a cosmic force-proving that finite human life possesses infinite value, not through weapons, but through the power of memory itself.

Remembrance is a gripping, evocative sci-fi novel by Samuel Ludke that explores what it means to be human, the weight of legacy, and a machine that sacrificed everything to give tomorrow a chance.
