In the form of letters and diary, she confides in him, revealing her struggles and moments of awakening as she faces the greatest challenge of her life. Under Guru Xue's compassionate care and spiritual guidance, she courageously confronts her illness, refuses to surrender to fear and despair, and ultimately finds self-redemption.

Some critics have drawn parallels between Xuemo's Eternal Love and Alice Walker's masterpiece The Color Purple, noting their shared explorations of fundamental themes such as life, death, and spiritual redemption.
