The present criminal investigation and process of administration of law and justice are broadly carried out under the following steps: 


 1. Investigation- is by the authorized agencies like police, crime branch, CBI, Magistrate or NIA as case or direction from competent authorities maybe. It includes the scene of crime, medical examination, forensic knowledge and opinions of various forensic experts.


2. All above and based on the statements of witnesses, the conclusion is formed regarding the furtherance of the incident.


3. The trial is held in the appropriate authorized Court of Law depending upon the nature and duration of punishment as per laid procedures. The prosecuting agencies  produce all the evidences, documents, statement and witnesses in the court of law to get the accused person prosecuted irrespective of the fact whether the accused person has committed a crime or not.


This is the prerogative of the public prosecutor to produce witnesses and experts to prove his theory or point. The process usually is very long. After the final argument, the presiding officer of the court will analyze the evidences and all materials on record and will announce the judgment.
