Industry Reviews

A great book for everyone who thinks that this cannot be the end of the story. Economy, organizational management and personal self-development brought to a whole new level!

Magdalena Schaefer, Senior HR Manager, Organisational Psychologist

Rebuild sets new standards and takes the reader into a whole new path for a better future and a paradigm shift on how the current and future investors and leaders must conduct business and behave towards their followers, collaborators and the wider stakeholder community. This book revolutionises the reader's views, assumptions and approaches for a more responsible, equitable and sustainable life as a whole. A must read, if you are sincerely interested to be the change you want to see!

As is well known, new architectures require a conceptualization of what it is that is to be built differently relative to "buildings" already created and lived in. In this book, the architecture to be built is nothing other than the present for-profit economy. In this well-argued text, the authors try their hand on a general theory of economics that takes its cues from modern physics. The theory is a highly cogent, 'dialectic', critique of neo-classical economics. What differentiates the book's theory from other utopia is the style of thinking that is both holistic and systemic. The hallmark of such thinking lies in an explanatory analysis of what does not work in the presently used capitalistic framework, and of what are that framework's contradictory assumptions about organizations as well as human beings. In this sense, the book is a philosophy of a new kind of society that could be built.

Importantly, the authors ask questions not only about intentions, goals, and outcomes; they also ask new questions about human agency in a more general, sociological sense which enables them to sketch a new kind of social ontology. They view social actors' conditioning from an adult-developmental vantage point, thus transcending the 'eternal' behavioral truths one finds in most books on economics. In addition, the authors view both society and its economics as an 'open', rather than a closed, system, that is, one whose survival is not pre-ordained but contingent upon the level of social actors' awareness of the structures of social and cultural reality they encounter in launching their life and work projects.

Rebuild} delivers exactly what it says on the cover: a toolkit for you to build a better world. It contains the most useful business and personal toolkit I've seen, and has radically transformed my worldview. Organisations, jobs and practically everythingtextemdash we're trying to reinvent them, but are we succeeding? This book makes reinvention work; it's written as part guidebook, part theoretical overview with scientific underpinnings, and a completely relatable narrative with fascinating anecdotes. It is for anyone who wants to build solutions to our global challenges.

Marie-Nicole Schuster. Leadership development consultant

The Adaptive Way chapter in Rebuild made me realise that seeking validation from others to build my business (Solve Earth) is a self-defeating trap, because no single person has the capability to understand fully what I, or any other person, is capable of. I can continue on my journey into the unknown with advice and guidance from others, but ultimately, I must rely on my own decision making and self-validation. This is an incredibly liberating and empowering insight that gives me the courage to take on the biggest challenges in sustainability and building a better future society.
