Every Rhyme Masks a Crime! Amateur sleuth Little Miss Muffet is back exposing crime and cover-ups and filling in all the missing bits of those confusingly incomplete rhymes. Baaa Baa Black Sheep is suspicious. Why is Farmer Fred giving all her precious black wool away? Is Baaa Baa being fleeced? Will Baaa Baa and Little Miss Muffet solve the mystery before it's too late? And how did Little Bo Peep get mixed up in all this? It all sounds a bit mysterious ... A riotous reimagining of our popular nursery rhymes.

Nursery Crimes is a hilarious, cheeky crime mystery series aimed at children aged 6 to 12,particularly reluctant readers.

These stories will appeal to kids who will appreciate the chance to revisit familiar stories from a fresh (and slightly rebellious) perspective.

They feature gentle — and at times not so gentle humour with a mix of irony, slapstick and word play that kids love.

About the Author

John Barwick is a widely published author of children’s fiction, children’s non-fiction and text books. He has published over 90 titles, and been shortlisted in the CBC Book of the Year Awards and in The Australian Awards for Excellence in Educational Publishing. Recently retired as a Primary School Principal, John now writes full-time. Terrigal, NSW.

About the Illustrator

Dave Atze professional fun haver and Illustrator of all things cute and cuddly. Commonly found sketching up a storm with his trusty k9 by his side Dave has worked in cartoons, comics, games, toys, advertising and childrens books. Dave has illustrated a number of children’s picture books and he continues to work with author Michelle Worthington on the very entertaining ‘Three Legged Kangaroo’ series - plus long listed notable 'Cat Spies Mouse' with Rina Foti. Dave also has joined with award winning author Bill Condon to create a very funny book 'Curly Tales' where both author and illustrator have really had fun letting their imaginations fun wild. An exciting change of speed has been working on a young readers series with Cameron Macintosh – ' Max Booth Future Sleuth', with four titles in the bag and more to come, these titles are well loved in Australia and overseas. Needless to say Dave is a very busy illustrator!
