About the Author

Whitney Fitzsimmons is an award winning broadcast journalist and well-known TV news presenter across Australia and Asia. Whitney spent over a decade at the ABC hosting a wide variety of programs including the 7pm News, Business Today, Lateline Business, The Drum and Weekend Breakfast. Whitney was awarded the prestigious Jefferson Fellowship from the East West Centre at the University of Hawaii and a fellowship with the Asia Pacific Journalism Centre. She has a Masters in Journalism from University of Technology Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre & Performance from Western Sydney University. The Rising is Whitney’s debut novel.
