Unbeknownst to them events from the past threaten to challenge the righteousness of their cause. The new city Lucidia is their temple. They have barely recovered from the "Lucidian Temporal Disturbance" and the spiritual costs to build such an edifice. The heavenly likeness of the city is the epitome of hope showering them with optimism before the storm. A Glimpse of the Host is a story about peace, redemption and fulfilled promise. This legacy is very much alive as the planet undergoes its final transformation. A new enlighten generation of leaders have emerged wide with anticipation of the fulfillment of a promised future. Under this backdrop a mysterious epidemic occurs threatening the dream and casting a cloud of despair. The likely recovery from this malaise is dependent on the coming and nurturing of a new sect. The story is build around the challenges to develop a pedagogic curriculum to raise-up these chosen ones. For a start the unique qualities typifying this new sect rest in the heart and mind of a single individual.
