Sherlock Holmes and fantasy writer HP Lovecraft did not meet until 1981. This introduction was made by Ralph E Vaughan in the seminal story "The Adventure of the Ancient Gods." The stories not only feature Lovecraft's monster-gods, but reveal little known aspects of Sherlock Holmes' life and character.
