Jenny Will Eat You Now

Sometimes you just want to eat the one you love...right?

Jenny Greenteeth has watched civilizations fall and wars break out during her lifetime. Preferring to keep her own company, she has been living in Boston for the last few hundred years – currently, in an abandoned subway station. Here, she has access to the waterways, an interconnected subterranean system that allows her to travel around the globe. With a conviction that she is far superior to humans – who are petty, dangerous, and fragile – she has no qualms about satisfying her hunger with their flesh. That is, until she comes face to face with a human man who, for the first time, she doesn't want to eat (but also…she kind of does). Confused by these conflicting feelings, Jenny is intrigued.

So, when two other cryptids take up residence in her station – a satyr and a selkie – she (begrudgingly) asks them to help her find this mystery man in exchange for safe passage through her waterways. Together, they embark on a quest to track him down. On the way, Jenny experiences the modern world – discovering catcalling, pigeons, protests, fashion, friendship, and…Dunkin Donuts. On her journey to find the man that she couldn't eat at first sight, Jenny goes on an unexpected deep dive into what it means to be human and to fall in love.

"A horribly delectable and deliciously horrifying fish out of water tale about a monster pursuing love, Jenny Will Eat You Now merges the humanity of a monster and the monstrousness of humanity into a perfect symphony of camp, horror, and heart." —Delilah S. Dawson, New York Times bestselling author of Bloom and House of Idyll

"If I didn't already know, you'd have a hard time convincing me Jenny Will Eat You Now is Gillian Daniels' debut novel; it's that good! Easy, confident prose gives life to characters, both fantastical and real, who fully live (and sometimes kill) on the page. I dare you not to love Jenny Greenteeth as she stumbles through modern Boston, modern love, and ravenous hunger." —Bracken MacLeod, Shirley Jackson Award finalist and author of Closing Costs and Let Not Your Sorrow Die

"A decadent and feral horror love story that slips its teeth in slowly. You will want to savor every bite of JENNY WILL EAT YOU NOW, which lingers on the tongue long after the final page. Aching, sharp, and impossible to forget, Daniels expertly crafts a tale exploring how being loved is to be consumed. I adored it!" —Cat Scully, author of Below the Grand Hotel

"A fish out of water story with an absurdist bend that evokes the cinema of Yorgos Lanthimos and the sincerity of a middle school romance. It is dark as it is bright—which is to say a story in total harmony and balance, and we all have the pleasure of bearing witness." —Aquino Loayza, author of Deep and The Monologist
