About the Author

Helen Sage grew up on a sheep and wheat farm in Victoria before moving to the city to pursue studies, work and family. These days, while caring for Jayne, Helen enjoys walking, writing and gardening, and emailing her daughter and family in Sweden. I think our story can alter perspectives about living with disability in Australia, and I hope it will generate greater empathy and ultimately an improvement in the conditions of care and for carers themselves.
