Time Is the Water in Which We Swim

TIME IS THE WATER IN WHICH WE SWIM is a science fiction novel about a megalomaniacal carp, a sinister alien consciousness, and the usual family problems you get at the end of the world. Ray Pilari has been abducted by a telepathic carp with delusions of grandeur. Ray last saw his wife, Eileen, as she fell from a disintegrating airplane. Their son and daughter are now alone as the world ends. Mad dogs and aliens with unsavory agendas compete with a frightening new consciousness to control the earth. Ray's daughter, Viviana, and her brother Primo, believing themselves to be the sole survivors of some mysterious Armageddon, struggle to survive and make sense of events. Viviana embraces this new world when she meets the woman of her dreams. Then she learns what loss truly is. Her brother is murdered and his body becomes possessed by a powerful and ambitious alien robot that can only communicate via the hip-hop lyrics memorized by Primo. Viviana, Ray, Primo, and Eileen are all entangled in the competition for control of the world as well as in their search for family resolution.
