Dark Terrors: v. 5

One of the few remaining homes for original short horror stories, Dark Terror 5 is twice the length of its predecessors and a remarkable treasure trove of all that is best in the horror writing genre. From the extremely short sci-fi orientated 'Final Departure' by Gahan Wilson, to the novella 'Pelican Cay' by David Case which sees something nasty infecting the inhabitants of the Florida cays, we have the totally original combined with remarkable twists on classic formats. In 'Witch Compass' Graham Masterton introduces us to a mysterious artefact that is first cousin to the monkey's paw which is able to lead you to your heart's desire but will only let you claim it at the cost of a terrible moral choice. Ramsey Campbell provides a shocking rationale for writer's block in 'No Story In It'; Richard Christian Masterton threats us to the macabre and highly stylistic 'Barking Sands' which will put you off Hawaiian holiday's for life; and Gregory Frost gives us a glorious culinary take on one of Oscar Wilde's classic tales in 'The Girlfriends of Dorian Gray'.
