Outpost

On a distant planet in the far future, a young woman named Felicitas is imprisoned in a strange prison colony, her mind controlled by a dreaming machine that gives her spurious memories. But now she begins to awaken to a true consciousness of her surroundings. Set in the midst of a wilderness inhabited by huge, dinosaurian beasts, the prison has been abandoned by an alien race, and the controlling robots and security devices are breaking down all around the compound. While a small band of awakened prisoners plots escape, another larger group falls under the sway of backup mind control technology that turns them into an army of zombies determined to stop the escape. And somehow Felicitas is the key to both groups.
Who are the aliens? Where are the aliens, in space and time? And when are they coming back? Felicitas is determined to find the answers. As she becomes stronger and struggles toward freedom and self-knowledge, she journeys across the face of a hostile planet populated by unreliable friends and implacable enemies, always toward the mysterious alien outpost.
