A mild, attractively written sorcery-cum-parallel-universe import from Britain. Dekteon, a slave in his own world, is lured into another one by Zaister, his parallel-world self. Zaister, about to be ritually sacrificed at the end of his stint as a royal consort in a cruel matriarchy, successfully effects the switch with his unsuspecting alter ego, only to find himself bereft of his own powers and imprisoned in the slave's mind. Dekteon-Zaister must wield Zaister's powers to avert his own sacrifice, rescue the real Zaister, and restore each of them to his own world. All monumentally tame, but Lee's firm, discreet prose style sets it a cut above most of its kind. (Kirkus Reviews)
