Erin Hunter serves as a collective pseudonym employed by a group of authors, namely Victoria Holmes, Kate Cary, Cherith Baldry, Clarissa Hutton, Inbali Iserles, Tui T. Sutherland, and Rosie Best. Together, they collaborate on various juvenile fantasy novel series centered around animals and their adventures. Noteworthy series under this pseudonym include Warriors, Seekers, Survivors, Bravelands, and Bamboo Kingdom.
In the creative process, Victoria Holmes develops the plot for each book, and the other authors take turns writing them. Although not officially recognized as an Erin Hunter author, Dan Jolley contributes to the manga stories published under the Hunter name. Illustrators for the Warriors mangas include James L. Barry, Bettina M. Kurkoski, and Don Hudson, all working under the pseudonym. Natalie Riess and Sara Goetter are also credited as illustrators for the upcoming graphic novel adaptation of The Prophecies Begin.
