This book is based on extensive multi-disciplinary research into the origins of the human species and the emergence of prehistoric mythological beliefs. It presents objective and comprehensive background research into how and why the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament emerged. The research draws from the disciplines of archaeology, history, anthropology, seismology, palaeontology, linguistics, genomics, psychology, mythologies, and religious studies. Together, these are combined to illustrate the long-term context and the diverse influences on the writing of these influential religious texts. The book aims to summarise the emergence of the human species over time and the circumstances which led to the transition from hunter-gatherers to early civilisations, outline the diversity of prehistoric cultural and mythological influences that emerged across those early civilisations, explain how those prehistoric cultural and mythological practices strongly influenced and were adapted to produce the Hebrew Bible, and place the Hebrew Bible in its historical and mythological context as one example of a long tradition of ancient mythological literary styles and writing.
