Have you ever wondered what an Autism Assistance Dog does? Or about the unique perspective of a person living with autism? Through his mother's diary, follow nine-year-old Lachlan's journey with his new friend "Itsal" the Labrador, as they navigate the world together, with Lachlan achieving one of his many dreams and goals - learning to surf! Read about the fantastic improvements Itsal makes to Lachlan's life, and how he strengthens and supports Lachlan and his family.

"Praying for Strawberries is a remarkable story of the daily, real-life events of a mother, a child and a family who have been blessed as they travel with each other on a journey where each day unfolds with many surprises not planned for. It is this uncertainty that can be both exhilarating and challenging. The reader will not remain untouched." Trevor R Parmenter AM, Professor Emeritus Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney

I loved reading this diary. It is written in a peaceful and positive way. I felt a part of this family's world immediately and it was a delightful journey to be taken on with them. The power of love and living in the moment and overcoming and enjoying the many interests and talents and abilities is a challenge to us all. i look forward to hearing more of the achievements and exciting ventures of the young lad and his family and faithful dog. A truly beautiful book where you will fall in love with the young lad and his love for life -

Great Read!!!

This book was a mothers diary account of her son Lachlan's achievements and his friendship with his assistance dog Itsal. Lachlan has autism. The book is a delightful read. It focuses on all the positives and strengths Lachlan has and the whole time I was reading the book I had a big smile on my face. Lachlan's happiness radiates through the book page by page. I think this book would help other children and adults to see a positive side to autism. To understand that being different is not a negative thing, but actually it has extraordinary positives. My favourite part is seeing how much Lachlan and Itsal have achieved together by the end of the book. I give the book 5 stars since I think it's important for other children and adults to learn about autism in a positive way.
