This book describes experimental and theoretical studies of pile footings widely applied in hydrotechnical engineering. Generic piles design techniques are also discussed. The coupled load analysis of piles subject to vertical, lateral forces and moments as well as the input data are defined. Pile footing design criteria are specified and further implemented to the analytical algorithms and procedures. Pile test data are applied to the evaluation of design parameters to be applied to the analysis of single piles and pile groups. Sheet piling is also considered and related stability analysis of soil bases as well as active and passive pressure on sheet pile walls. The final chapter describes practical applications of the proposed analytical methods.
