Bacteriophages (or phages) are ubiquitous in nature and the most abundant biological entities on our planet. It is a natural enemies of bacteria. Phages are obligate intracellular parasites and replicate inside the host either lysogenic or lytic mode after infection using the cellular machinery of a bacterium. On the basis of their anti-bacterial property and unique characteristics, phages are being comprehensively evaluated taxonomically.
