All our seas feed into one true ocean, interconnected and interdependent. Producing over half of the world's oxygen, our planet's ocean is a natural and vital wonder. As well as supporting a vast array of life, it plays a crucial role in regulating our weather and climate and it supplies us with food, medicine, recreation and a means of transport. Now it is under threat from many sides, such as overfishing, climate change and pollution to name a few.

About the Author

Having studied at the National Oceanography Centre, Russell went on to work as a commercial oceanographer. Retraining to become a secondary science teacher, Russell later left formal education to work with Incredible Oceans; a marine education non-profit. He is also on the board of directors for the European Marine Science Educators' Association.

During her five years of working with the World Cetacean Alliance and its educational partner, Incredible Oceans, Celine has worked as a marine educator and science communicator with marine organisations across the globe. Having studied Environmental Sciences at Leiden University College NL, Celine's expertise and passion focuses on the impacts of climate change on marine mammals.
