An inspirational guide to stylish kitchens.

This beautifully illustrated book gives you inspirational ideas on how to create your own affordable, super-stylish kitchen, which will become the heart of your home. Nowadays, kitchens serve as the hub of the house and family life, where everyone gathers to talk and to share food, friendship and love. The kitchen of your dreams isn't always the instant model found in an upmarket designer catalogue; it's often the result of a creative journey, touched by the familiar objects, colours, materials and textures you love and which make you feel happy. The high-quality photography reflects the personality of each featured kitchen, the owner's lifestyle and the style of cooking.

My cool kitchen features approximately 30 kitchens in many shapes and sizes. These range from a tiny Parisian kitchen that turns out gourmet dinners, to a London converted flat that is transformed into a weekly supper club and an original 1970s kitchen still in use today.

About the Author

Jane Field-Lewis is a London-based stylist working in photography, film and TV. She is the co-author of my cool caravan and my cool campervan, and the author of my cool shed. She is also the creator and creative consultant and stylist behind the hit C4 series Amazing Spaces. She has an enduring love for both people and style, believing the two are closely entwined. Her career is based on the aesthetic, whether high- or low-style, natural or created, and across people and objects. She has, of course, had a great many kitchens, ranging from her tiny vintage caravan to her current kitchen in the basement of her London home.
