Midas' Touch

A powerful story of tragedy, ambition, resilience, and reinvention.

Terry J. Atzen's Midas' Touch is an unforgettable memoir inspired by a life shaped by hardship, courage, competition, service, business, and the relentless pursuit of success. The main character is TJ Nilson. From his early years in a small Iowa farming town to the football fields of Stanford University, from service as a U.S. Naval Officer to the high-stakes world of Wall Street and politics, Atzen's story captures the grit and determination behind one man's remarkable journey; although it is based on his life, however, the author added other things to enhance the story.

At four, Terry's life changed forever when his father passed, which left him facing grief, responsibility, and uncertainty far too soon. Rather than surrender to loss, he learned to survive, adapt, and push forward. That same inner drive carried him through school, athletics, military service, business, investing, and leadership.

On Wall Street, he learned how wealth is built, lost, protected, and understood. In politics, he witnessed influence, ambition, and the complicated machinery of power. Through it all, Atzen brings readers into a life filled with defining moments, hard lessons, unexpected turns, and the enduring belief that success is not simply handed to anyone. It is built, tested, and earned.

Midas' Touch is more than a personal memoir. It is a story about the American Dream, the value of hard work, the impact of family, the lessons of failure, and the courage required to keep moving when life changes in an instant. Readers who enjoy inspirational memoirs, sports biographies, business memoirs, Wall Street stories, political journeys, and true-life accounts of perseverance will find this book both compelling and deeply human.

For anyone who has ever faced loss, chased a dream, rebuilt a life, or wondered what it takes to turn adversity into achievement, Midas' Touch offers a moving and memorable story of resilience, ambition, and transformation.
