This new edition of a successful book aims to provide podiatrists, diabetic specialists, and podiatry nurse specialists with a cheap, handy, full colour pocketbook to be used as a quick reference guide in the identification of patients at risk of severe feet problems associated with diabetes.

Foot problems in diabetic patients are very difficult to treat. Therefore visual recognition of presenting clinical signs is key in early diagnosis and start of treatment. This book provides a practical and succinct guide to the whole process of managing the diabetic foot.  It is designed to be portable and yet contains sufficient, easily accessible information to enable the practitioner to make rapid, effective decisions which will prevent deterioration and progression to amputation.

As in the previous edition, Managing the Diabetic Foot will reflect the Department of Health’s guidelines for the National Service Framework for Diabetes, which have been implemented in all hospitals in the UK since 2004.   The book will incorporate numerous practical tips on the day-to-day assessment and management of the diabetic foot.  An introductory chapter describing the assessment of the diabetic foot will include an illustrated section on differential diagnosis.

The basic framework of the book will be similar to the previous editions as follows: normal foot, high-risk foot, ulcerated foot, infected foot, necrotic foot and unsalvageable foot. However, each section will undergo substantial revision (see above) to bring it up-to-date.

Once again, it will be priced attractively, and published in a very small, pocket-sized format, perfect for both podiatrists and diabetes specialist/diabetes nurses who daily see patients presenting with diabetic foot problems.

Industry Reviews

?Most of the illustrations are in color, with a few well-produced line drawings. There is a nice glossary of commonly used abbreviations, a useful reading list, and a very helpful appendix of differential diagnosis for some of conditions associated with the diabetic foot.?  (Doody's, 19 December 2014)

?Managing the Diabetic Foot, 3E, is the ideal go-to clinical tool for all diabetes professionals, specialist diabetes nurses and podiatrists managing patients with diabetic foot problems.?  (Kingbook73's Medical Ebook and Video Collection, 30 September 2014)
