?When I read an action thriller, I look for cinematic potential, and The Man From Belize has plenty. I particularly like the way the author gives the hard-driving plot a great sense of place. He describes parts of Latin America in evocative detail, with some understanding of local customs and culture. The author must have spent time there and it shows. Against this backdrop, a "war of the assassins" type of story is set, with offbeat characters, particularly among the villains, and satisfying twists and turns. The sex scenes are not bad, too. The doctor hero is clever, principled and engaging. His use of his medical skills adds a fresh element to the mayhem...The author knows his genre..Enjoy.
