Main Street

Carol Milford is a young, educated urban woman with hopes, dreams and aspirations. But Carol marries doctor Will Kennicott and ends up in a small town in American Midwest where she struggles to either fit in or drag the local burghers into the modern era. Main Street is a great American novel, and a major reason why Sinclair Lewis was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
