What inspires people to create? Whether it’s a painting, a story, a new invention, a recipe, or even a simple little song, the inspiration to begin must start somewhere. But where?

On one cold, winter night in Lullaby Valley, an old composer was determined to write a new song, but he couldn’t find the notes in his heart no matter how hard he searched. He fussed, scribbled, and paced the floor, but all he found was a handful of awkward notes that refused to “sing.” So he gazed out to the night sky.

In a small town many miles away on that same night, a little boy squirmed and kicked his blankets, unable to sleep. That’s when his mother came in to help him rest, and with her soft voice, she sang a song while they both looked up to the stars.

What happens next is a story to help kids young and old find their creative inspiration and share it with others, even if it’s just a simple little song. You see, the old composer and the faraway mother soon found their creative spirit from the same night sky.
