Leveling Up

My name is Eric Siu and I'm an entrepreneur who helps other businesses grow. I have a marketing agency that has served companies like Amazon, Nordstrom, and Uber. I also run a marketing analytics company, have two podcasts, and regularly contribute to publications such as Entrepreneur Magazine, Forbes, Fast Company, and more.

In my youth, I was a hardcore gamer. I spent my time playing World of Warcraft, Everquest, and many others. Whenever I had to log off, I would dream about somehow taking the excitement of playing games to the real world.

Why? Because I accomplished so much more in games than I did in real life. In games, I won championships, played with the best teams, and accomplished feats that most people could only dream of. In the gaming world, I felt like I was contributing to something bigger than myself and I felt connected to others. In real life not so much. I almost got kicked out of high school and college, I was never good at dating, and I was seen by my parents and my peers as someone who "didn't have anything going for him."

But then I found the way to level up.

I'm not telling you this to boast. I'm telling you because if you approach life as a game, you'll achieve success and eventually win at the ultimate game: business.
