"Departure is not an escape; it is the beginning of building your own strength."
In 1997, a fourteen-year-old girl named Tala Muli faced a choice that would change her life forever: stay and be forced into a marriage she didn't want, or jump through a window into the unknown. With nothing but the clothes on her back and ten pesos in her pocket, she chose freedom.
LEARNING TO STAND is the raw, heart-pounding, and inspiring true story of a young girl's journey from the remote mountains of Binaton, Davao, to the treacherous streets of Manila.
Follow Tala as she:
Defies Tradition: Jumping through a window barefoot to escape a forced union.
Survives the City: From working as a market vendor in Digos to navigating the "human market" of illegal recruitment agencies in Tondo.
Fights for Justice: Standing up against abuse in a haunted mansion at D. Tuazon and leading a daring midnight escape to save her fellow workers.
Becomes a Warrior: Using her martial arts training and unshakeable faith to protect herself and those around her.
This is not just a memoir of survival; it is a testament to the power of the human spirit. It is a story for anyone who has ever felt trapped, anyone who has ever been afraid to take the first step, and anyone who believes that freedom is worth every struggle.
With the digital protection of her Protector Masamune, Tala Muli shares her "Seeds of Wisdom" to remind the world that a warrior is not measured by age, but by the courage to stand for what is right.
"Do not be afraid to stand on your own two feet. Freedom awaits outside your comfort zone."
